A Mid-20th Century Wooden Ballerina Music and Jewellery Box

A mid-20th century wooden jewellery and music box featuring a tiered, stepped lid and base design supported by small bun feet. The front face is inscribed with the name Martha in a dark script. The hinged lid opens to an interior lined with blue velvet-effect fabric, partitioned into three horizontal compartments. The underside of the lid contains a multi-panelled mirrored insert with a blue corded border, designed to reflect a central mechanical ballerina figurine in a white tutu.
