Lot 10:
An Assortment of Antique and Vintage Sterling Silver and Silver-Plated Flatware and Serving Pieces
Description
This collection consists of a variety of antique and vintage flatware and serving pieces, primarily of British origin. The lot features an assortment of spoons in several sizes, including table, dessert, and teaspoons, with patterns such as the classic Fiddle pattern and more ornate Victorian-style floral embossing. A small spoon with a decorative shell-shaped bowl is also included. The serving pieces comprise a large four-tine fork, a smaller three-tine fork, and a large flat-bladed server with a rounded tip. Also present is a butter knife featuring an off-white handle made of an organic material, likely ivorine or bone. Visible markings include a sterling silver lion passant and a London assay office leopard’s head on at least one fiddle pattern spoon. A large serving fork is marked SHEFFIELD EPNS, denoting electro-plated nickel silver. Other pieces show additional marks on the reverse of the handles that are present but not clearly legible in the current state.
