A 9 ct Edwardian Yellow Metal Triple-Bar Love Knot Brooch weighing 2.67 gm

A yellow metal bar brooch dating to the late Victorian or Edwardian period. The piece is constructed with a triple-bar frame, upon which a centrally applied decorative motif is mounted. The motif consists of an entwined wire knot design, traditionally known as a love knot, terminated with two spherical finials. The brooch is fitted with a hinged pin and a traditional C style clasp. Indistinct marks are visible on the reverse of the central motif and on the bar near the clasp end; while one character resembles a 9, the stamps are not clearly legible.
