Chinese Export Silver Filigree and Jadeite Brooch measuring 5 x 4 cm and weighing 9.42 gm

A Chinese export silver filigree brooch of stylized foliate or starburst form. The central feature is an oval, mottled apple-green jadeite cabochon set within a border of granulated silver beads. The surrounding decorative petals are constructed from intricate silver filigree wirework, exhibiting delicate scrollwork patterns. One terminal of the brooch features a heart-shaped scroll motif. The reverse is fitted with a hinged pin and a revolving safety catch. The brooch bears two rectangular stamped marks on the reverse: CHINA and SIVER, a known misspelling of silver frequently found on early to mid-20th century Chinese export jewellery.
