UK Queen Victoria 1878 Silver Shilling
Description
An 1878 United Kingdom sterling silver shilling. The obverse features the Young Head portrait of Queen Victoria and the Latin legend VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITTANNIAR: REG: F: D:. The reverse is inscribed with the denomination ONE SHILLING in two lines, surmounted by a royal crown and enclosed within a wreath of oak and laurel branches tied with a ribbon. The date 1878 is positioned at the bottom of the reverse. The coin is composed of sterling silver and features a milled edge.
