UK 2017 Royal Mail The Great War: War in the Air PNC, Numbered 08341

This philatelic numismatic cover (PNC) was issued by the Royal Mail in 2017 as part of a series commemorating the centenary of the First World War. The light blue cacheted envelope features six commemorative stamps comprising three 1ST and three £1.57 denominations. The stamps are cancelled by two black circular date stamps (CDS) from Upavon, Pewsey, dated 31 July 2017. The cancellations include the text THE GREAT WAR CENTENARY and NOTICE. THERE ARE VACANCIES IN THE ROYAL FLYING CORPS. The cover is illustrated with a biplane and an airship. An uncirculated commemorative coin is inset on the right side, depicting a biplane and the inscription 1914-1918 THE WAR IN THE AIR. The item is individually numbered 08341 in the lower right and features the Royal Mail Tallents House imprint in the bottom margin.
