UK 2011 WWF 50th Anniversary Cupro-Nickel 50 Pence Philatelic Numismatic Cover

This lot comprises a UK 2011 50 pence coin commemorating the 50th anniversary of the WWF, presented within a Royal Mail Philatelic Numismatic Cover titled Protecting the Amazon. The heptagonal coin is struck in cupro-nickel and features a reverse design by Matthew Dent, depicting a central WWF panda logo surrounded by fifty symbolic icons representing global conservation. The obverse bears the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. The coin is mounted alongside a block of four Royal Mail 2011 Amazon Alive stamps, cancelled with a pictorial postmark dated 22 March 2011. The presentation envelope is individually numbered Nº 00757 and includes educational text regarding the Amazon rainforest and WWF conservation efforts. This item was produced in collaboration between the Royal Mail and the Royal Mint.
