An Early 20th Century 9 Carat Gold and Pale Blue Gemstone Bar Brooch

An early 20th-century bar brooch, centrally set with an oval-cut pale blue gemstone, possibly an aquamarine. The gemstone is held in a four-prong setting on a polished bar, which features a small stylized foliate decorative element to one side of the central setting. The reverse of the bar is stamped with the maker’s mark GP&B, attributed to G. P. & B. Ltd, followed by a 9CT gold fineness mark. The brooch is fitted with a simple hinged pin and a traditional C-clasp.
