A Collection of Mid-20th Century Pale Blue Pressed and Frosted Glass Tableware
Description
An assortment of pale blue glass featuring various finishes and patterns. The collection includes two decanters with tall, pointed faceted stoppers, and a large pedestal cake stand with a radiating sunburst and ribbed design to the plate on a faceted base. Notable pieces include a large frosted or satin glass vase with a wide, scalloped rim, a frosted glass lidded candy dish on a pedestal base, and a tall cylindrical vase with a heavily textured, stippled exterior finish. The group further comprises several fluted trumpet vases, some with hexagonal bases, along with assorted bowls and dishes including a small dual-handled bowl with a diamond-cut pattern and a rectangular trinket dish. The designs show strong Art Deco influences with patterns such as vertical ribbing and diamond-point moulding. Several pieces are in the style of mid-century British manufacturers such as Sowerby, Davidson, or Jobling, while others resemble the Moonlight Blue range by Cambridge Glass or work by Fenton.
