Lot 112:
A Pair of Mid-Century Modern Ceramic Vases Attributed to Beswick
Description
A pair of mid-century modern ceramic vases, attributed to Beswick and designed by Colin Melbourne, circa 1950s. The vases are made of earthenware with a bulbous form that tapers to a flared neck and rim. Each vase is mounted on an integral, stylised base with an undulating, leaf-like shape. The decoration features a dark charcoal-green matte glaze with vertical mint green lines ending in small dots, creating a teardrop effect. The rim and upper neck exhibit a colour gradient transitioning from light mint green to the darker body colour. No factory marks or signatures are visible.
