Lot 128:
An Assortment of Victorian and Later Decorative Art Glass and Ceramic Vessels
Description
This collection comprises various decorative glass and ceramic items from the late 19th and 20th centuries. A central piece is a large lavender-toned ceramic pedestal urn featuring a white cameo-style relief of two herons or cranes amongst foliage, finished with a gilt rim. The glass items include a tall Victorian-style green satin glass vase with a ruffled rim, decorated with hand-painted gilt scrollwork and multicoloured enamel accents. A selection of ruby red glassware consists of a flared-rim vase with a white beaded border at the base, a small cream pitcher, a cylindrical tumbler, a large bowl, and two stemmed glasses with etched floral motifs. Clear glass items include a large lead-crystal cut-glass decanter with a faceted stopper, a smaller cut-glass decanter with a stopper, and a tall molded glass decanter with a textured body and a flame-style stopper. The group is completed by a clear glass pedestal bowl and a small cut-glass bud vase. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on any of the pieces.
