An Enamelled Cast Iron Knight Form Fireplace Companion Set Stand with Poker

A vintage cast iron fireplace companion set stand designed in the form of a standing knight in full armour wearing a long cloak. The figure is finished in brown and buff coloured enamelling and is mounted on a tiered, scalloped-edge base. The knight is depicted with hands resting on the hilt of a sword. The top of the helmet is hinged, and the reverse of the figure is hollow, containing internal metal brackets for holding fireplace accessories. The stand is accompanied by one metal poker featuring a decorative cruciform handle. A fragmentary and illegible white paper label is present on the front right side of the base. The design is in the style of 20th-century English foundries such as Nestor.
