A Collection of Six Wade Ireland Porcelain Tankards and Mugs

A collection of six high-fired porcelain tankards and mugs manufactured by Wade Ireland. The group consists of three large tankards and three smaller mugs, all finished in high-gloss glazes of blue, green, and brown. The pieces are decorated with polychrome transfer-printed motifs. The larger tankards depict an Irish Jaunting-Car, a hunting scene with a hound, and a domestic interior titled By the Fireside. The smaller mugs feature the Guernsey coat of arms, the mythological figure Finn MacCool, and a second Irish Jaunting-Car scene. Most bases feature a blue transfer-printed mark including a shamrock symbol within an arch, the text Irish Porcelain, and Made in Ireland. Some marks include additional letters such as J, E, or C. One smaller mug is marked with a red Wade Ireland backstamp.
