A Collection of Tremar Pottery Stoneware Pub Money Boxes and a Posy Vase
Description
This collection consists of Cornish art pottery by Tremar Pottery, produced during the late 20th century. The group includes three stoneware money boxes designed as public houses and one small posy vase. The public house money boxes are titled The Bull, The Swan, and The Pig and Whistle. The Bull is a two-storey structure with an impressed date of 1920 and a coin slot on the reverse. The Swan is a single-storey building with a textured roof and a coin slot on the reverse. The Pig and Whistle is a taller, three-storey building with dormer windows and a coin slot on the reverse. The posy vase features a central neck surrounded by six smaller holes and is decorated with an incised floral design in orange and brown tones. The pieces are finished in various earthy, matte, and textured glazes. The underside of the items features the impressed mark TREMAR U.K.
