A 9 Carat Yellow Gold Opal Cluster Ring in the Victorian Style

A vintage cluster ring crafted in 9 carat yellow gold, designed in the Victorian revival style. The ring features a central oval cabochon white opal, surrounded by a halo of twelve smaller round cabochon white opals. The stones exhibit a play-of-colour with visible flashes of green, orange, and yellow. The opals are claw-set in a tiered arrangement supported by an openwork decorative basket. The shank features bifurcated shoulders that taper into a solid band. The interior of the band is stamped with hallmarks including 375 for 9 carat gold purity and an anchor symbol for the Birmingham Assay Office. A maker’s mark is present but is worn and illegible.
