A Set of Limoges Style Porcelain Tea Wares Attributed to Theodore Haviland
Description
A set of porcelain tea wares attributed to Theodore Haviland, Limoges, France. The collection features moulded, ribbed bodies with scalloped rims and scroll handles. Each piece is decorated with floral sprays of purple and white flowers with yellow centres, set against a white ground. The decoration is executed through a combination of transfer-printing with hand-painted highlights. The rims, handles, and spouts are finished with sponged or rubbed gilt-tone borders. The set comprises a teapot with a matching domed lid and circular finial, a cream jug with an arched handle, teacups, saucers with scalloped edges, and two bowls of varying sizes, likely serving as a sugar bowl and a waste bowl. No maker’s marks or factory stamps are visible in the provided image.
