An assortment of two English country-style side chairs of differing designs and finishes. The first chair features a light-coloured hardwood frame, possibly oak or beech, in a stripped and unfinished state. It is designed with a two-slat ladder-back and a woven cane seat. The construction includes turned front legs and stretchers with visible mortise and tenon joints at the seat frame. The second chair is a traditional ladder-back variant with four shaped horizontal slats, constructed from a dark-stained hardwood such as oak or ash. It features a woven rush seat in a four-triangular pattern and is supported by decorative bulbous turned front legs joined by turned stretchers. No maker’s marks or stamps are visible on either piece. These styles are characteristic of 18th or 19th-century English country furniture traditions.
