The item consists of two primary sections: a shallow circular bowl and a pedestal base, joined at the centre by a threaded metal bolt and nut visible on the underside. The interior of the bowl features a central medallion in relief depicting a putto. This central motif is surrounded by a fluted well that transitions into a broad, pierced rim. The rim is decorated with intricate openwork scrolling foliate and shell-inspired motifs in the Neo-Rococo style. The pedestal base features complementary pierced scrolling designs and terminates in three feet. No maker’s marks, hallmarks, or signatures are present on the object.
