Description
A collection of desk curios and accessories with New Zealand associations. The group includes a rectangular wooden or stand, possibly crafted from native Rimu timber, featuring a beveled leading edge and two circular recesses. One recess contains an inset New Zealand twenty-cent coin. The obverse of the coin is struck NEW ZEALAND ELIZABETH II 1982 around a portrait of the Queen; the reverse features the denomination 20 with a kiwi bird and silver fern leaf.
Also included is a hand-carved wooden letter opener in a light-coloured timber, featuring decorative chip carving along the spine and handle. The set further comprises a small fixed-blade desk knife with a dark handle, possibly horn, and a steel blade showing a tapered profile. Completing the collection is a small pocket address book or notepad with a tan leatherette cover and a metal-hinged spine.
