A Beswick pottery jug featuring a wide, rib-moulded body tapering to a stepped circular base. The vessel is constructed with a distinctive triple-pierced handle and a flared, pinched pouring rim. It is finished in a mottled sky-blue satin glaze, decorated with horizontal bands of dendritic brown markings reminiscent of traditional mochaware or tree patterns. The underside of the base features two sets of marks. Centred is an impressed semi-circular mark reading BESWICK – ENGLAND above the impressed model number 478. There is also a faint green printed script backstamp which reads Beswick followed by Ware and MADE IN ENGLAND.
