Description

Two pieces of English earthenware pottery featuring decorative drip glazes in shades of blue and cream. The first item is a shallow, circular bowl with two small integral handles fashioned in the form of textured branches. The interior surface is decorated with a mottled cream and pale blue glaze, accented by a central target pattern of concentric blue rings. The exterior is finished in a uniform mid-blue glaze. The base of this piece features a circular impressed mark reading MADE IN ENGLAND around a central number 344 and a letter M.

The second item is a deeper, footed bowl with an undulating, scalloped rim and two pierced handles, each composed of three vertical ceramic bars. The glaze transition flows from a sky blue at the top through to turquoise and tan tones towards the base. The underside of the foot bears a stamped blue mark. The characters 288 are clearly legible. Above this is a word in script that appears to be Beswick followed by England, though the script is partially obscured.

The shallow bowl measures approximately 22 cm in diameter, excluding handles.
The deeper bowl measures approximately 20 cm in diameter.
