A relief-moulded earthenware wall pocket, fashioned in a tapered cornucopia or horn form with a flat reverse. The piece features a cream glaze body with a scalloped, foliate-style rim and is decorated with woodland-themed sgraffito-style raised motifs. The upper register depicts two squirrels, the central section contains stylized botanical stems, and the lower section features a running fox. Pale turquoise-blue accents are applied to the rim and foliage, while the animal figures are highlighted with brown staining. The reverse includes a single circular suspension hole for mounting.

The reverse bears a dark blue printed backstamp featuring a beehive symbol surrounded by the text BURLEIGH WARE BURGESS & LEIGH ESTD. 1851 BURSLEM ENGLAND. A hand-painted green alphanumeric mark J 6119 is present next to the factory stamp. Three circular grey felt protective pads are adhered to the reverse corners.
