A vintage jewellery casket of dome-top form and a collection of assorted costume jewellery. The casket is constructed from pasteboard with a printed and gilt-embossed exterior. The lid features a 19th-century style village dance scene, while the front panel depicts a riverside landscape with figures in a boat and a bridge in the distance, all framed by scrolling foliate borders. The interior is lined with plain cream paper. The jewellery collection includes a multi-strand necklace of silver-toned beads and spacers, a necklace featuring circular wooden disc pendants joined by gold-toned metal chains, a strand of faceted clear glass beads, and a twisted copper-toned metal bangle. Also present is a gold-toned mesh chain, various yellow and white metal chain necklaces, a single green glass bead, and a leather cord. The box features a small keyhole to the front, though no key is present. No maker’s marks, hallmarks, or labels are visible on any of the items. A blue ink mark is present on the underside of the lid.
