A hand-painted glazed ceramic musical figurine depicting a whimsical military figure, possibly a Major-General. The figure is styled with a green uniform coat featuring white cross-belts, yellow epaulettes with red accents, and a yellow bicorn hat topped with a white plume. The character is rendered with exaggerated facial features, including large dark eyes and a prominent nose.

The figure is mounted on a white cylindrical ceramic base decorated with hand-painted musical notation on a black staff. The base bears the handwritten script "I am the Very Model", referencing the song from Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic opera, The Pirates of Penzance. Internally, the base houses a mechanical music box movement. The metal casing of this movement is stamped with the manufacturer name Sankyo and the country of origin JAPAN. The mechanism is designed to rotate the figure when wound via the underside.
