A Chinese porcelain ginger jar of ovoid form with a short neck and a matching domed cover. The exterior is decorated in the famille noire style with a dense wan hua (thousand flowers) pattern featuring various blooms including peonies, chrysanthemums, and lilies. The floral enamels are applied in shades of pink, blue, yellow, and green over a black ground, with the pink and blue pigments showing a slight relief. The base is finished with a stylized ruyi-head border in pink and yellow. The interior of the jar and lid are glazed white. The unglazed foot rim reveals a white porcelain body. The underside of the base features an iron-red overglaze four-character mark arranged in a square reading 中国制造, accompanied by the English text MADE IN CHINA.
