Lot 29:
An Assortment of Decorative Cut Crystal and Glass Tableware Including Two Decanters and a Lidded Tankard
Description
An assortment of seven decorative glassware items and a small clock. The collection features two cut-glass decanters: one of bulbous form with a diamond-cut body and a faceted pineapple-style stopper, and a second decanter with a square body featuring cross-hatch cutting and a circular faceted stopper. Included is a pair of stemmed liqueur glasses with diamond-cut bowls.
The set also contains etched glass pieces comprising a tankard and a matching cylindrical tumbler. The tankard features a heavy molded base and a hinged pewter lid with a thumbpiece. Both the tankard and tumbler are decorated with copper-wheel style etching depicting birds amongst foliate branches. A small rectangular paper label is present on the upper body of the tankard, though the text is not legible.
Further items include a large circular pressed glass platter or tray featuring a button and daisy pattern across the entire surface. Completing the lot is a miniature quartz clock set within a molded clear glass scroll-form surround. The clock features a white dial with Roman numerals; the manufacturer name on the dial is too small to be legible.
