The body of the jug bears several stamped British hallmarks in a row. These include a maker’s mark in a rectangular cartouche consisting of two initials, though the characters are not clearly legible. Following this is the fineness mark ‘375’, indicating 9 carat gold. Two further marks follow, representing an assay office symbol and a date letter, both of which are too worn to be individually identified. A handwritten paper tag is attached to the piece.
