A Japanese porcelain vase decorated in the Satsuma style with heavy moriage enamel and gilding. The central panel features a seated Buddhist deity, portrayed with a black and gold lotus blossom throne, flanked by two haloed attendant figures. The surrounding surface is densely ornamented with geometric diaper patterns, scrolling clouds, and stylized scales in a palette of iron red, green, black, and gold. The vase is flanked by two gilded handles at the neck. The base features a hand-painted red mark consisting of a square seal containing stylized characters, which are not legible as a name. Adjacent to the seal is a vertical red inscription reading HANDPAINTED MADE IN JAPAN.
