Description
A collection of medals, ribbons, pocket watches, books, cigarette cards etc belonging to Harry Waller 12693 of the West Riding regiment.
Medals include – The British Military Medal (See the framed "A" Form for details of his brave act) The 1914-1915 Star, The British War medal (1914-18), The British Victory Medal and The British Special Constabulary Medal. Engraved H Waller and range from the rank of Private, Lance Corporal and 2nd Lieutenant.
Also included in this lot are his three pocket watches – an Ehrhardt WWI pocket watch with broad arrow, A 1930’s Army services watch and a 14ct gold Waltham Pocket watch which was presented to him, (Sergeant H Waller), by the Borough of Todmorden on the 27th August 1917 to acknowledge him being awarded the British Military Medal. for his bravery in the Battle of the Somme and capture of Martinpuich.
There are three cigarette packets containing a mixture of cigarette cards, a photo sent home to Mother in 1916 and the all important bottle opener!
