UK 2011 Mary Rose 500th Anniversary £2 Coin Cover (PNC)
Description
A numismatic philatelic cover (PNC) produced jointly by Royal Mail and the Royal Mint to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the launch of the Mary Rose. The cover features two UK 1st class stamps from the 2011 Mary Rose issue (SG 3232 and SG 3233), depicting King Henry VIII and the Mary Rose warship respectively. The stamps are cancelled by a circular pictorial First Day of Issue postmark dated 6 October 2011 from Portsmouth, featuring a Tudor rose emblem. Inset into the cover is a UK 2011 two pound (£2) coin in Brilliant Uncirculated finish, the reverse of which depicts the Mary Rose sailing. The envelope is printed with stylised Mary Rose typography and includes a commemorative inscription. The item bears the Royal Mail Tallents House imprint and a printed limited edition serial number 2328.
