A set of ceramic money boxes in the form of the NatWest pig family
Description
A set of graduated ceramic money boxes, attributed to Wade Ceramics, produced as part of a promotional series for National Westminster Bank (NatWest) during the 1980s. The collection depicts anthropomorphic characters from the popular NatWest pig family. The group includes Woody, depicted as a sitting baby pig wearing a nappy fastened with a silver-tone safety pin; Annabel, a young girl pig in a light blue top with a navy bow and black skirt; Maxwell, a young boy pig in a green school-style tunic and striped tie; Lady Hilary, a female figure wearing a striped tie and blue dress; and Sir Nathaniel, an adult male figure in a formal black tuxedo with a red bow tie and red boutonniere. Each figurine is finished in a high-gloss polychrome glaze. No maker’s marks or bank branding are visible as the bases are not shown in the provided images.
