2014 Cook Islands $1 Age of the Dinosaurs Tyrannosaurus Rex Gold-Plated Copper Coin

A 2014 Cook Islands 1 dollar commemorative coin from the Age of the Dinosaurs series, depicting a Tyrannosaurus Rex. The coin is struck in copper with 24ct gold plating. The obverse features the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, with his initials IRB visible below the truncation. The reverse displays a colour-printed scene of a Tyrannosaurus Rex in a prehistoric landscape, with the legend AGE OF THE DINOSAUR appearing along the upper left rim. The accompanying Certificate of Authenticity indicates the reverse also features a UV-printed skeleton. The item is presented in a clear acrylic capsule with its original paper certificate.
