Three 2014 Gibraltar One Crown WWI Centenary Anniversary Set Coins
Description
A trio of commemorative coins from The WWI Centenary Anniversary Set, issued under the authority of Gibraltar and marketed by The London Mint Office. Each coin has a denomination of One Crown and is dated 2014. The coins are struck in copper-nickel layered in 24ct gold with a proof finish. The obverse of each coin features a regal portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with inscriptions including ELIZABETH II, QUEEN OF GIBRALTAR, and the date 2014. The reverses depict three themes of World War I combat: WWI – LAND featuring a Mark V tank and soldiers, WWI – SEA depicting naval vessels during the Battle of Jutland, and WWI – AIR illustrating a dogfight between biplanes. Each reverse also bears the denomination ONE CROWN. Each coin is housed in a clear protective plastic capsule accompanied by its individual certificate of authenticity.
