Two items comprising a mid-century style amethyst glass footed bowl and a commemorative porcelain lidded box

A two-piece lot consisting of a heavy art glass vessel and a commemorative porcelain trinket box. The first item is a footed bowl or votive holder of substantial weight, featuring a globular upper body in a deep smoky amethyst colour, supported by a thick, solid clear glass cylindrical base. The design is characteristic of mid-century modern art glass. The second item is a circular porcelain lidded box produced to commemorate the year 2000. The exterior features a rich celestial theme with depictions of planets, stars, and nebulae against a dark blue ground. Around the edge of the lid is a decorative gold-toned band inscribed with the text THE MILLENNIUM. The lid centre displays a golden sunburst motif surrounding a red and white star or compass rose. No maker’s marks are visible on the exterior of either piece.
