A Pair of White Glazed Relief-Moulded Ceramic Footed Vegetable Tureens

A pair of white glazed earthenware lidded vegetable tureens, attributed to Wedgwood in the ‘Patrician’ pattern. Each vessel features a squat, bulbous form decorated with elaborate relief-moulded neoclassical patterns including scrolling foliage and floral sprays. The tureens are supported by three moulded foliate feet. The matching domed covers exhibit similar relief decoration and are finished with a pointed finial. Beaded or gadrooned borders are present on both the lids and the upper rims of the bases. This specific pattern is highly characteristic of Wedgwood creamware produced during the mid-20th century.
