Victorian Transfer-Printed Ceramic Chamber Pot

The auction will start in __ days and __ hours __ minutes

Description

A Victorian-era ceramic chamber pot, likely produced in earthenware or ironstone. The vessel features a bulbous body with a wide flared rim and a single C-scroll handle, which includes a moulded acanthus-style thumb-rest. The exterior is decorated with a sepia-toned floral transfer-print, centred on a large peony or rose-style bloom surrounded by smaller buds and leafy sprays. Additional moulded relief decoration is present, including a repeating vertical bar motif around the shoulder and faint scrollwork with dotting on the lower section of the body. The style and transfer technique are characteristic of late 19th-century Staffordshire pottery, resembling patterns such as Clematis or those associated with makers like A. J. Wilkins or Ridgeway. No maker’s marks or pattern names are visible in the provided images.
