A selection of earthenware ceramics including a large wash basin, three graduated jugs, and two small plates. The circular wash basin has a scalloped rim and is decorated with a flow blue transfer-printed pattern featuring a central floral spray of roses within a wide border of scrolling foliage and blossoms. The three graduated jugs include one of octagonal form with a moulded hydra handle and two of rounded form. Each is decorated in an Imari palette of cobalt blue transfer-printing with hand-painted iron red and ochre enamels and gilded highlights. The two small plates are transfer-printed with polychrome illustrations depicting scenes from nursery rhymes, including Jack Sprat and Pat-a-cake, with the corresponding verses printed around the rim. No maker marks are visible on any of the pieces.
