A Chinese porcelain ginger jar of ovoid, lobed form featuring eight vertical facets. The vessel is decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with a prunus on cracked ice ground, a design featuring plum blossoms against a fractured-ice pattern. The body is further embellished with four shaped reserves, each containing a floral study including peony and chrysanthemum, executed with fine line work and varying blue washes. The glaze exhibits a slight bluish-grey tint. The mouth rim is unglazed and shows a faceted profile corresponding to the body. The interior is glazed and contains a single globule of excess porcelain material near the rim. The base is flat with an unglazed outer ring and a recessed, glazed centre. There are no marks, symbols, or inscriptions present on the base or body.
