A solid oak joint stool featuring a rectangular plank top with moulded edges, secured to the frame with visible wooden pegs. The frieze is decorated on the long sides with hand-carved fluted nulling or gadrooned detail. The stool is supported by four splayed, ring-turned, and baluster legs that terminate in square block feet. These legs are united by a perimeter stretcher of rectangular section, joined using mortise and tenon construction and reinforced with wooden dowels. The timber exhibits a dark, aged patina on the upper frame and legs, while the stretchers show a lighter, more natural oak tone. The underside of the top reveals two parallel planks and shows some dark drip marks or staining consistent with old wax or finish. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the piece.
