Description
A circular brass charger produced by the Keswick School of Industrial Arts. The piece is constructed from a single sheet of hand-hammered brass using repousse and chasing techniques. The wide, flat rim features a continuous frieze of scrolling foliate motifs interspersed with birds. A deep well leads to a raised central boss depicting a mythological creature, possibly a griffin or dragon, set against a finely stippled ground. 30 cm Diameter
