Lot 26:
A Collection of Metalware, Glass, and Militaria Collectibles
Description
A collection of miscellaneous items including metalware, glass, and militaria. The lot features a small rectangular white metal box with high-relief repoussé floral decoration, possibly of Japanese origin, depicting chrysanthemums. Included is a small circular dressing table jar with a diamond-cut glass body and a tarnish-patinated white metal lid. The collection also contains a larger rectangular metal money box of strongbox construction, featuring a coin slot to the lid and a decorative riveted exterior. The militaria components consist of a Royal Engineers cap badge or brooch in white metal with blue enamel detailing, bearing the motto Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense, a shield-shaped embroidered bullion work patch on a red ground featuring a central rose and the text YORKSHIRE 1908, and a small white metal decorative shield-form fob. No maker’s marks are clearly visible on the bases or bodies of the objects.
