Description

A collection of decorative glazed earthenware ceramics, primarily mid-20th century British manufacture. The group includes three commemorative and advertising dishes: a circular green dish for the 1924-1925 British Empire Exhibition at Wembley, featuring relief-moulded animal motifs and inscribed British Empire Exhibition and Zoo London; a circular green advertising dish for Reginald Corfield Ltd, London, with central Regicor script logo; and a golden-brown dish for the 1977 Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, decorated with a crown, heraldic lions, and the date 1977. The collection further comprises various novelty planters and troughs, including four textured log-form pieces in blue and brown glazes of U-shaped and zigzag designs, three leaf or pea pod-form troughs in green and tan, and two boat-form planters modelled as canal barges. Other items include two green ribbed pedestal planters, a pale blue shell-form dish, a brown circular dish with floral motifs, and a brown dish with a bird figurine. The pieces exhibit characteristic relief-moulded decoration and monochromatic glazes.
