A Trio of Decorative Ceramics comprising a Pair of Imari Style Vases and a Bird-Handled Dish
Description
A trio of decorative ceramic items consisting of a pair of vases and a single handled dish. The pair of porcelain vases are of small baluster form with flared rims and footed bases. They are decorated in the Imari style with hand-painted underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze iron red enamel, further embellished with gilt highlights. The decoration features traditional panels of stylised floral and foliate motifs. The decorative dish is of scalloped form with two integral loop handles and a central well featuring a moulded basketweave texture. The top edge is surmounted by a moulded figure of a white bird perched on a green leaf. The dish is hand-painted with autumnal leaves and red berries against a white ground, finished with a gilt line to the rim. No maker’s marks are visible on any of the items.
