Lot 21:
Edwardian Yellow Metal and Blue Paste Solitaire Bar Brooch
Description
An early 20th-century bar brooch featuring a minimalist geometric design. The brooch is constructed from a bifurcated yellow metal bar that tapers from the centre towards the terminals. Set at the centre is a single circular faceted light blue stone, likely blue paste, held within a rub-over bezel setting. The reverse of the brooch is fitted with a simple hinged pin and a traditional C-clasp. A small, rectangular incised mark is present on the reverse of the bar near the hinge, although the characters are not clearly legible. No definitive maker’s mark is visible.
