A Set of Six Wade Bear Ambitions Glazed Ceramic Figurines with Original Boxes

A set of six miniature glazed ceramic figurines from the Bear Ambitions series, produced by Wade Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England. The collection is finished in a uniform monochromatic honey-brown glaze. Each figurine depicts an anthropomorphic bear in a specific role or occupation, including an artist holding a palette, a ballerina in a tutu, a chauffeur or pilot in a peaked cap, a fisherman in a sou’wester hat smoking a pipe, a train driver at his controls, and a motorist in a vintage open-top car.

Each figurine is accompanied by its original individual cardboard box. The packaging is decorated with a scrolled border and bears the printed text Bear Ambitions and Collectable Bears by WADE. This series was released in the mid-1990s as part of Wade’s range of collectable whimsies.
