A Collection of Vintage Detachable Shirt Collars in a Circular Box with Associated 1932 Laundry Receipt
Description
A collection of starched white detachable shirt collars stored within a circular leather-covered box. Several collars feature printed identification for Hurst Laundry Limited, Ashton-under-Lyne, alongside handwritten laundry marks including M218 and M278. The lot includes an original paper laundry receipt from Hurst Laundry [1930] Ltd., Ashton-under-Lyne, bearing a purple ink date stamp for 5 March 1932 and a matching handwritten customer reference code M278. The box is finished in a deep red tone with a red interior lining and a functional metal buckle strap. This set provides a detailed record of commercial laundry services and menswear in early 1930s Britain.
