The auction will start in __ days and __ hours __ minutes

Description

A mid-20th-century lithographed metal advertising sign for Exide Batteries. The sign is die-cut in the form of a garage serviceman wearing green workwear, presented in the act of holding a black car battery. The battery casing is inscribed with the brand name Exide in a red script font. To the right of the figure, a vertical banner contains the promotional slogan STILL KEEPS GOING WHEN THE REST HAVE STOPPED rendered in blue capital letters against a white and yellow ground. The sign is single-sided; the reverse is finished in a solid green paint and features a central, vertical U-channel metal support rib intended for structural reinforcement and mounting. This item is characteristic of British garage advertising from the 1940s or 1950s, likely produced for The Chloride Electrical Storage Co. Ltd.
