A Victorian Mahogany Serpentine Swing-Frame Toilet Mirror

A mid-19th century Victorian mahogany swing-frame toilet mirror, historically intended for use on a dressing table or chest of drawers. The item features a rectangular mirror plate with rounded upper corners, set within a narrow moulded mahogany frame. The mirror is suspended between two curved upright supports, each terminating in a turned wooden finial and fitted with adjustable wooden tightening knobs. The structure is mounted upon a solid mahogany base characterised by a triple-scalloped serpentine-moulded front edge. The timber shows a naturally aged patina and grain.
