A Mid-Century Modernist Norwegian Pewter Brooch by Brødrene Mylius

A Mid-Century Modern Scandinavian brooch manufactured by Brødrene Mylius of Kragerø, Norway. The piece is cast in pewter and features a rectangular form with an abstract embossed design. The front face is decorated with four vertically stacked, horizontal motifs resembling stylised hourglasses or curved X shapes. These recessed motifs contain a granular, pebbled texture, contrasted against a smooth, matte-finished ground. The reverse bears a circular stamped maker’s mark featuring a central bird motif above the initials BM, encircled by the words PEWTER and NORWAY. The brooch is fitted with a vertical pin assembly, including a coiled hinge and a safety C-clasp.
