The auction will start in __ days and __ hours __ minutes

Description

A collection of loose, hand-coloured wood-engraved satirical illustrations removed from various issues of the British periodical Punch, or the London Charivari. The collection features a range of Victorian and Edwardian political and social caricatures. Specific titles identified include Britannia—The Unprotected Female, dated 24 November 1849, and The Satisfaction of a Gentleman. The prints retain the magazine’s characteristic masthead and include various publication dates such as 21 February 1912, 13 March 1912, and 27 March 1912. Various artists’ monograms are visible within the plates. The prints are housed in a red card folder with a typed label reading Hand Coloured Punch.
